			<description><![CDATA[Watching some of the videos I must say the character creation process could be made better if you gave names to styles and colors instead of just Style #, Color #.<br />

This really does help from a player's perspective. For example at first someone is likely to go through all of them, but then they would have to go through again to find the one they like and check again each time instead of going through and simply reading. The color thing should be obvious ;P]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ive been thinking about this game hitting the web for awhile now to come across several questions:<br />

1) being a itunes game, is the game going to allow us to play music during the gameplay threw our ipod/iphone devices? some games do/ do not allow. just curious<br />

2) the encountering subject makes me ask whats going to happen. are their going to be wild zenforms you can battle/catch? (pkmn lol) and i hope something more then seeing a trainer and getting a epic [!] above their heads is going to happen <img src="images/smilies/smile.gif" style="vertical-align: middle;" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /><br />

So I used to play Pokemon a lot. I stopped really after the 3rd Generation (I loved Emerald). I played the 4th gen and the 5th gen games a bit but never beat the elite 4 or really invested so much into my pokemon.<br />

<span style="font-weight: bold;">Let me explain</span><br />
Everything in the 2 screenshots above is different and part of the big revamp the battle system is getting. New Battle ground, new UI (User Interface) and multi-ZENFORM battles.<br />
<br />
In the first shot, you can see 2 player ZENFORMS against one enemy.<br />
This will be explained more when I reveal the battle system with a new video but what I can tell you now is - this can happen mid way through ANY battle. All you need to do is spend Skill Points (the same points you use to <a href="http://youtu.be/2r7SNP9eI6g" target="_blank">grow and evolve your ZENFORM</a>).<br />
When you play the game you will notice using and spending skill points is a skill and stradegy in itself. Do you spend those points to evolve a ZENFORM? Increase it's stats or spend them in battle?<br />
The stronger the ZENFORM (higher star rank and evolution stage) - the higher the cost to bring it into battle for multi-battles.<br />
That cost only applies if the battle was originally 1 -v- 1. If the battle is a multi-battle from the start, no cost to skill points is needed to bring in ZENFORMS.<br />
Switching normally in 1-v-1 battles doesn't cost anything of course.<br />
<br />
The battle ground is a fake 3D battle ground. Simply touching the screen and swiping left or right allows you to move the camera (this it not really 3D but a trick using the images).  All of the UI hides and lets you get a great look at the battle ground.<br />
<br />
The top part of the user interface is the battle bar. This has the battle menu - that when pressed slides down the battle bar and shade (like the notifcations on iOS) and reveals the rest of the menu.<br />
It has a flee button that you can press to bail from the battle. <br />
It also has the crystals that your team ZENFORMS are in. You can touch one of the crystals for quick switching a ZENFORM onto the field.<br />
<br />
You can touch a ZENFORM and it will slide open the status bar to reveal more information. You can open 1 status bar, or all of them if you wish.<br />
Doing this also slides the battle bar off view so you can focus on the status bar.<br />

Last night, we asked if we should add more ZENFORMS to the game.<br />
The plan would increase the overall count from 93 to 132.<br />
<br />
There is a lot of pros and cons to this idea though.<br />
I'll try keep this thread as clear as possible. ZENFORM evolution is different then some games, so it might seem confusing. There is a very basic chart to show off evolution in this post. I should also point out, we are working with a new ZENFORM designer, and designs for the new ZENFORMS are nearly done already. <br />
<br />
ZENFORMS are not really like other monsters/pets in games from the same genre (monster/pet RPGs??). All ZENFORMS branch evolve from 1 of 3 Newborns. It's all based on stats (which you control by spending Skill Points earned to increase stats at will). <br />
When a Newborn evolves to a Child stage, it does so based it's highest stat. A Child to Adolescent evolution is based on the highest/second highest stat OTHER then the first stat used to evolve to child.<br />
Then a branch evolution based on the highest element stat to evolve into an Adult ZENFORM (using element based attacks and items increase this). The Grand stage is a refined/stronger version of the Adult.<br />
<br />
The new idea we have does not really allow for an update AFTER release as it fits with this mechanic. Basically, the idea is to have a new Adolescent stage that branches if both the second stat and third stat are equal. This will then create a new ZENFORM which can branch evolve into 4 elements and 4 addition Grand ZENFORMS.<br />
<br />
And example would be.<br />
If a ZENFORM who evolved into a Child stage based on the attack stat was to evolve again and BOTH defense and speed stats were equal, it would branch into that. Since this involved all 3 stats, each Child has the possibility of evolving into this ZENFORM.<br />
Here is the chart. The additional ZENFORMS are marked with "New".<br />

We have plans for a secret evolution which adds an additional 4 ZENFORMS per Newborn. This means 44 ZENFORMS per Newborn (43 evolutions + 1 Newborn). That's the 132.<br />
The secret evolutions CAN be added in an update and that is why I didn't go into detail - plus - it's a secret..... ssshhhhh.....<br />
<br />
So let's some up.<br />

<li>More ZENFORMS = more variety to the game.</li>
<li>Increase the number of ZENFORMS to find in the wild.</li>

And why?<br />

My favourite film was <a href="http://youtu.be/KBiOF3y1W0Y" target="_blank">Drive</a>. The soundtrack is really cool. Mostly synth-80s style music (although each song was released in late 2000s). The trailer (linked with the title of the movie) shows all the lines the main character has. He barely talks in the movie overall lol. Very very good movie.<br />

My favourite game was <a href="http://youtu.be/i6JTvzrpBy0" target="_blank">Deus Ex HR</a>. Played on Xbox 360. When I saw that trailer from E3 2010, I could not wait for the game. Turns out I did, I waited over a year but it was worth it. I'm a huge shooter fan, I'm a huge RPG fan, and I'm a huge fan of sci-fi. This game was an amazing experience and I played it through twice making different choices in the story and my character progression second time around. It was the best time I had playing a game this year and thats why it tops modern warfare 3 or skyrim for my fav game this year.<br />

My favourite album is not an "album" but a "mixtape". <a href="http://soundcloud.com/theweekndxo/sets/the-weeknd-thursday-1" target="_blank">The Weeknd - Thursday</a>. I randomly came across The Weeknd earlier this year. He released 3 mixtapes this year all for free. Each with 9 songs. He's only 21, still unsigned (will be soon), and sounds like Michael Jackson. Can't wait until he releases an "album". Truely baby-making music <img src="images/smilies/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align: middle;" border="0" alt="Tongue" title="Tongue" /> Throw on "The Zone" when your with that someone special.<br />

Details the update to the bag, only 1 more outdoor map needed for Version 1.0 release and a recoding of the OW (overworld) "people" handling of the ZENGarden (the engine for ZENFORMS).<br />

New update posted just below in post 2. Update includes the save/load game scene and a new day/night cycle.<br />

For the last 2 weeks, Spaceemotion and I have been focusing on finishing a map needed for the school. We also have been planning and doing early code work on the item system. We want to have a cool "sub-feature" to the item system and it has been time consuming planning and adding it. I want to make sure we plan it right before I started coding it. The last week was spent making sure we knew what we wanted out of the system. Only 2 days ago I began coding the Item Database into the game engine. Laying in the variables for items to use (item name, effects and so on). Everything went smoothly. <br />
The school map mentioned above was also just finished (I say finished, but we just need to make 2 or 3 little edits for it to be fully done). That was added into the game. Each map takes about 50 or so lines of code just so the engine won't crash. Again, it takes time to do this, but it's not "hard" work.<br />

Spaceemotion is going to begin coding the UI for the item menu.<br />
Hopefully it goes good for him.<br />

While he is doing that, I'm going to edit our Save/Load Game Menu.<br />
This is currently it:<br />

(Testing, ignore the "null" text label. That will be the player name. No name was set when testing - hence a null value lol).<br />

You can swipe left and right to view your saved/load games. I'll keep that. It shows the player and what the player looks like from the save file, and the ZENFORM team (names and star rank). But it's very blank and doesn't provide the information I really want.<br />

The edits I'm going to add is:<br />
The map image the player is on will change based on the map the player is on. The name of the map might be displayed (if it looks good).<br />
A new label showing how many quests the player has taken will be added.<br />
A new label for player reputation/moral will be added too. This will show more information related to the story that is vital information to show the player on a load screen. <br />

Although we are working on a cool project, we are just "bedroom" coders and artists. We are planning on selling the game on the app store, but currently any costs for development come from my pocket. Aside from the iPhone/Apple development licence, the main cost to the project is resources. A lot of our basic resources are commissioned by me from various artists. The ZENFORMS, both the sprites and the cool "HD" artwork are commissioned. The outfits you see the little characters wear - even their hairstyles are commissioned.<br />

We have tried to use Rockethub - a crowd funding site - but found the site to not have the userbase we needed to help fund us. It just simply was too small and gave the project no notice space.<br />
