Staff Changes and Chrome App
Calis Projects regrets to inform you that 3 staff members are no longer on the team. Wichu, Kiwi and Martyr have parted ways with us. We wish them the best of luck in future projects. We know these guys have some great stuff coming for end users soon.

Martyr is focusing on his music label, Freelancer, which will still be collaborated with on music for future projects by Calis. Freelancer tracks will also be used for the Calis Projects loading screen for games and for our podcast intro.

Congrats to staff member Yuoaman on becoming a Mod over at Pokecommunity for their Game Development section.
He is the successor to me and my old position and we know he will do us proud.
Calis Projects wishes him the best of luck.

Chrome OS is a lightweight linux based Operating System designed for netbooks by Google. It is designed to run web based Apps. Calis Projects now has a Chrome OS app. This app can also be installed on the regular Chrome browser for Windows and Mac. I have taken some screenshots to show you guys.

RE: Staff Changes and Chrome App
How to Install the CP app if your running Google Chrome Browser for Windows- RIGHT NOW
If you are running Google Chrome web browser, you can install the Calis Projects web app right now, but only on on condition.
You need to download the developer build of Chrome.
You can get it here:
http://www.google.com/chrome/eula.html?extra=devchannel

Once installed, you will need to add a Command Line switch. Well 2 actually.

--enable-apps : turns on extension apps, otherwise you'll get an error when you try to install them.
--apps-panel : (optional) instead of loading the new tab page, Chrome will display a floating panel above the current tab

It's actually really easy.
Here is a youtube video. This guy is doing it on the Chromium build, but it works fine with normal Google Chrome.
Locate your Chrome or Chromium shortcut. There should be one on your desktop and one in your start menu - either one will work!
Click the shortcut with your right mouse button and choose properties.
Find the target box (it will be highlighted when the properties screen appears).
Left click at the end of the line (after chrome.exe).
Press space.
Add your command line switch. The result looks like this:
C:\Users\StephenMcVicker\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe --enable-apps --apps-panel

Remember that spacebar between the command line switches and after the exe.

Now your set up.
Download the Calis Projects App here:
http://www.calisprojects.com/calisprojects_app.rar

Extract it to your desktop.

Open up Chrome and type: chrome://extensions
This will take you to your extensions for the browser.
There should be a developer mode and a + symbol beside it. Click it so you see:
Click load unpacked extension- and load the CP app (make sure you un-rared it and it's a folder just named calisprojects_app)

Your done.
Close Chrome and re open it.
Click the + symbol to add a new tab or press CTRL+T and you should have the Calis Projects App listed like the above shots in the spoiler.

RE: Staff Changes and Chrome App
So is the app just like a link?
It's way easier to do that in Firefox Tongue
CP is the 5th link on my browser Big Grin

And how could I forget to announce that Staff member Yuoaman has become the new Mod over at Pokecommunity for their Game Development section.
He is the successor from my old position there and I am delighted to see he got the position. W
Calis Projects wishes you the best of luck!

I'll add this into the announcement.

Edit:
Sorry Poe, didn't see your comment. Click the Chrome OS link above in the first post for information on the Apps. They are web based apps. For now CP's app is a link, but the plan will be to have a custom app for the OS when it arrives officially.

RE: Staff Changes and Chrome App
Consider this as an Alpha of the final version.
The final version will feature a neat UI that will hopefully pull in content of Calis Projects into a neat design and layout. Content=All content from all our social sites, main site, forums.

Chrome OS is still in an early beta stage.

Video from the google demo
It all depends on how the apps run here. You can see that it looks even different from the UI now.
No one is really too clear on the apps and app style yet, but the latest developer build of chrome came with support for apps that are going to be on Chrome OS.
I spent about a bit of time last night just getting that.
In the future, I'll put more effort and try to make it really fun for the Chrome and Chrome OS user.
